German animal rights organization Deutscher Tierschutzbund e.V. enlisted photographer Tim Thiel for a visually striking campaign that communicates the tagline, 'Tiere leiden wie wir' (Animals suffer as we do). The themes include piglet castration, horse branding, monkey brain testing, and mink skinning.

With a slogan of “Sow the seeds of solidarity,” the Life Ball 2010 night on 17 July in Vienna launches AIDS 2010, the 18th World AIDS conference by the International AIDS Society. Held July 18 –23, 2010, the conference offers a platform for discussion and publication of scientific, social and political developments in the field of HIV and AIDS, with an estimated number of about 25,000 participants.
