The Uncontrollability of Love is a brilliant portrait by Jak Flash, commissioned by the Birmingham SHOUT queer cultural festival. The image in inspired by ‘Cupid’s Hunting Fields’ by Sir Edward Burne Jones (see it after the jump) and draws from Jak’s personal experiences in love.

For his final project at Birmingham City University, Jak Flash looked to Major Arcana of Tarot Cards for inspiration.
Supported with a grant from Birmingham City Council, Jak created 22 images that recently went to exhibition and have just been created into a book. For his take on the 22 Major Arcana scenes, Jak used geometric shapes such as cubes and triangles to encode the images with meaning and provide a sort of commentary throughout the series.
